Equal Tees
Equal tees have the same diameter on all three openings (run and branch), used to split or combine flow equally in piping systems. They are fundamental components in process piping, utility distribution, and pipeline branching.
Reducing (Unequal) Tees
Reducing tees, also called unequal tees, have a branch opening smaller than the run, enabling connection to a smaller diameter pipe without an additional reducer. They are used where a branch line of reduced size taps into a main header.
Lateral Tees
Lateral tees, also known as Y-pieces, branch at a 45° angle rather than 90°, reducing flow turbulence and pressure loss at the junction. They are preferred in applications where smooth flow transitions are critical, such as slurry transport, drainage, and certain process piping configurations.
Cross Tees
Cross tees, or 4-way fittings, have four openings that allow piping to branch in three directions from a single point. While less common than standard tees, crosses are used in fire protection systems, cooling water distribution, and certain process piping layouts.
